Fires in Colorado and New Mexico

This pair of true- and false-color images from MODIS on June 11, 2002, shows the ongoing fires in Colorado (top) and New Mexico (bottom). Fires have red outlines, vegetation is bright green, and burned areas are reddish-brown. Large burn scars are associated with the Hayman Fire in Colorado and the Ponil Fire in New Mexico.
