Hurricane Fabian northeast of the Lesser Antilles

On September 3, 2003, the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) sensor collected this view of Hurricane Fabian as it was passing over the Sargasso Sea.

On September 4, Hurricane Fabian was situated 570 miles (920 km) south of Bermuda, and was moving toward the northwest at roughly 8 mph. The stormed packed sustained winds of 120 mph (195 km/h), but its intensity was expected to fluctuate over the next 24 hours.
