A large fire is burning north of Sydney in southern New South Wales, Australia. This true-color image of the fire (red dots) was captured by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on the Aqua satellite on November 4, 2002. The entire New South Wales territory has been plagued by wildfires in the preceding month.
