According to the National Hurricane Center, as of 5 p.m. on October 16, 2002, Tropical Depression 14 was centered directly over Cuba. However, an in-flow of dry air coupled with a strong soutwesterly upper-level air current has dramatically reduced the storms deep convection and weakened the storm.
This true-color image of Tropical Depression 14 was acquired by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS), flying aboard NASAs Terra satellite, on Oct. 15.
