In early December 2002, strong winds were blowing dust and sand from the Makran Mountains in southern Pakistan and Iran out over the Arabian Sea. The above true-color image of the dust plumes was acquired by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) instrument, flying aboard NASA?s Aqua spacecraft.
