North African Dust Storm

This is an eastward-looking, oblique view of northern Africa collected by SeaWiFS. Thick clouds of dust can be seen blowing northward out of Libya and Egypt across the eastern Mediterranean. The Nile River valley and delta and the Sinai peninsula are visible in the background.
