This MODIS global image is a composite of eight days of data acquisition gathered during the last week in March 2000. The land and ocean parts of the image were derived using MODIS' Surface Reflectance Product, while the cloud layer was composited and then filtered to remove all clouds below a certain optical thickness threshold so as to maximize the view of the surface.
