Fortescue Marshes in Western Australia

Near the center of the SeaWiFS image lies a region whose greenness is in stark contrast to the surrounding landscape. This site comprises the more or less contiguous floodplain in the middle reaches of the Fortescue River and is a major breeding ground in Western Australia.
