Sunny weather prevailed over much of the western U.S. in this SeaWiFS image. A smoke plume is visible between Salem, Oregon and the coast. Other possible smoke plumes drift in different directions around Cape Blanco. Offshore, the aquamarine swirls of phytoplankton brighten the water.
