Just left of center at the top of this MODIS true-color image of Botswana and portions of neighboring countries is the Okavango Delta, which stands out in dark green against a more arid landscape. To the southeast of the delta are the highly reflective Makgadikgadi Pans. The Pans are large salt pans that are transformed into grasslands by the monsoon rains.
