Smoke and wild fires in Eastern Siberia, Russia

This true-color MODIS image shows the detection of dozens of fires (red dots) burning in Eastern Siberia between the East Siberian Sea to the north and the Sea of Okhotsk to the south. Heavy smoke shrouds much of the region and stretches out over the East Siberian Sea.
