This SeaWiFS image (collected at 2:30 GMT on August 29, 2001) shows Super Typhoon Wutip. The eye of the storm in this image was 1500 kilometers southeast of Tokyo. Reports of the storm put winds at 130 knots with gust of up to 160 knots. Maximum seas are listed at 30 feet.
