A thick shroud of dust partially obscures MODIS' view of the Yellow Sea in this image from February 12, 2002. The dust appears to follow an arcing boundary that at the time of this image kept the skies over South Korea clear. Beneath the haze, the Yangtze River is emptying large amounts of sediment into the Sea.
