This true-color image of the Middle East was acquired by MODIS on March 8, 2002. Visible in the image are the countries of Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and the island of Cyprus. The major bodies of water are the Mediterranean Sea, the Red Sea, the Dead Sea, and the Nile River.
