Sakhalin and Sea of Okhotsk, Russia

This true-color MODIS image, acquired March 17, 2002, depicts the island of Sakhalin and the Sean of Okhotsk in the Russian Federation. Sea ice still clogs the waters and snow covers the ground. To the south of the Sakhalin lies the Japanese island of Hokkaido, though it is not visible in this image.
