This true-color MODIS image, acquired April 7, 2002, depicts a dust storm in the Gobi Desert of China's Inner Mongolia. The storm appears as a blend of brown, tan, and orange smudges flowing East to West over the upper right portion of the image. Also visible is a fire (red dot) in the lower left portion of the image.
