Cloud streets in Greenland Sea

Cloud streets have formed in the Greenland Sea, off the east coast of Greenland, and were captured in this MODIS image from April 12, 2002. Cloud streets often form when dry air, in this case, katabatic winds from interior Greenland, move out over open water. The clouds that form often align themselves in the direction of the low-level wind.
