Parana River, Southern Brazil

The Parana River cuts a large blue-green line down through this Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) image of Brazil from April 16, 2002. At bottom center, the Misiones region of Argentina is home to one of the last remaining pockets of a rainforest known as the Atlantic Coastal Forest, an ecosystem distinct from the Amazon Rainforest to the north.
