Greenland West Coast

The rugged, ice-carved Greenland coastline appears to be thawing out a bit in this MODIS image from May 21, 2002. In the Davis Strait (left), a warm arm of the North Atlantic Drift flows northward and clears the winter.s ice, while the western portion of the Strait is choked with ice from the Labrador Current, flowing south from the Arctic.
