Fires continue to burn throughout Mexico at the end of May. These fires have been burning for over a month now. The fires are concentrated in the Sierra Madres, along the country.s western coastline. The fires in the north appear to be making less smoke than those to the south. This image was acquired on May 31, 2002 by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on the Terra satellite.
