Smoke from fires in Quebec transported over the Great Lakes and Northeast United States

In central Québec, Canada, numerous wildfires (red dots) are billowing thick smoke toward the southwest. Within days, the smoke had reached the Great Lakes and New England regions of the United States. This series of images from the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) begins on July 5, 2002.
