Riiser-Larsen Ice Shelf and Fimbul Ice Shelf, Antarctica

In eastern Antarctica, the Mühlig-Hofmann Mountains (bottom right on September 25) drop off toward Princess Astrid Coast and the Fimbul Ice Shelf beyond. The image from October 25 is centered farther west, showing the Riiser-Larsen Ice Shelf at left and Fimbul at right. These images of the ice shelf were captured by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on the Terra satellite.
