Northeast India and Bangladesh

This true-color Terra MODIS image from October 29, 2002, shows northeastern India, southeastern Nepal (top left), Bangladesh, and Bhutan (top right). A semi-opaque pall of air-pollution covers much of the upper left corner of the image, as well as part of Bangladesh just north of the Bay of Bengal. The Ganges River flows southeast across the image and empties into the Bay at the delta region of India and Bangladesh known as the Mouths of the Ganges.
