Snow in Kazakhstan

Between the Aral Sea (upper left quadrant) and the rising foothills of the Tien Shan Mountains (lower right) is a depression called the Ptura Lowland, which stretches across Turkmenistan (bottom left), Uzbekistan (center), and Kazakhstan (top). In these images, the region is showing a stripe of snow.
