This true-color Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) image shows a few scattered fires (red dots) in northern South America: Venezuela (left), Guyana (right) and Brazil (bottom center). This afternoon overpass shows more active fire detections that the morning overpass of the same day.
