Snow across Mid-Atlantic United States

Snow stretches along the Appalachian Mountains in the United State’s Mid-Atlantic states. Shown here are New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Washington, D.C., Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, North Carolina, and Tennessee. The Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) flying aboard the Aqua satellite captured this true and false-color image pair on February 8, 2004. Snow is light blue in the false-color image.
