Dust storm in the Persian Gulf

On April 17 and 18, 2004, thick dust swept over the Persian Gulf. The Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) recorded the progress of the dust blown from Iran, Iraq, and Kuwait over the Gulf. Saudi Arabia forms the lower left section of the images. Along the shores of the Gulf, sediment is turning the water a milky blue.
