SeaWiFS: Typhoon Pabuk’s Aftereffects

This SeaWiFS image over Japan shows long plumes of green water issuing from the islands of Honshu, Shikoku, and Kyushu -- aftereffects of the heavy rains and high winds of Typhoon Pabuk.

In a presumably unrelated event, a long plume of ash or steam can be seen drifting northeastward from the summit of Mt. Oyama on the island of Miyake-jima to the south of Tokyo.
