Saharan dust over the Atlantic

Dust storms sweep regularly over the Atlantic Ocean from Africa᾿s Sahara Desert. This series of true-color Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) images from Spring 2000 shows large volumes of dust blowing from the continent.
