Saharan Dust over the Mediterranean Sea

Plumes of Saharan Desert dust (tan pixels) were blowing off the coast of Libya northward over the Mediterranean Sea on Sept. 10, 2003. This true-color image was acquired by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) aboard NASA´s Aqua satellite.
