Typhoon Ketsana (20W), off the Philippine Islands

The Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) instrument onboard NASA’s Terra satellite captured this true-color image of Typhoon Ketsana churning in the northern Philippine Sea. With estimated sustained winds of 120 mph, Ketsana was centered about 680 miles to the south of Iwo Jima and was moving toward the northeast at 4 mph.
