Today was an exceptionally clear day in the central United States for this SeaWiFS overpass. It was on the edge of this pass, but you can still see the rather large slug of dark flood water accumulating below Cape Fear, NC following Hurricane Floyd.

    <li>blooms or whitings in the Great Lakes <li>Mississippi River runoff over the "Dead Zone" <li>several small smoke plumes (fires, power plants, mills, refineries) <li>most major cities visible as gray patches <li>the bridge across Lake Ponchartrain is just barely visible <li>Mississippi watershed drainage pattern
