Fires in British Columbia

Dozens of fires continue to burn in British Colombia, Canada, filling the valleys of the Rocky Mountains with smoke. Red dots show where active fires burn, mostly in British Colombia, but also in Alberta, seen in the upper right. This Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) true-color image was taken by the Terra satellite on September 4, 2003.
