MODIS First Image Poster

The poster represents three contiguous granules of the Land Surface Reflectance product (MOD09), acquired on February 24, 2000, from 16:45 to 17:00 UTC. These granules extend from Central Canada to the Galapagos Islands, covering the United States east coast, the Gulf of Mexico and Central America. The dimensions of this orbit section are approximately 6500km by 2300km. Two insets (one centered on James Bay, Canada, and one on the Mississippi River Delta) show the full resolution capabilities of MODIS.
