As in many other northern waters this time of year, the primary producers in the Sea of Okhotsk are turning the water green as can be seen in this SeaWiFS image. The color of the sea surface is somewhat obscured along the eastern side of the sea by what appears to be some sort of aerosol cloud that roughly parallels the western edge of the Kamchatka Peninsula.
