SeaWiFS: Patagonian Shelf

In this SeaWiFS image, the springtime waters of the Patagonian Shelf are perhaps the most colorful that can be found. The water in parts of the Golfo San Jorge looks almost black since most of the incoming solar radiation has been absorbed by the water and the phytoplankton growing there.
