SeaWiFS recorded this bloom in the middle of the North Atlantic Ocean on May 4, 2001. The brightest portion of the bloom is located about 2000 kilometers due east of Cape Hatteras, North Carolina. The tops of the Corner Seamounts are about 1700 meters below the turquoise water.
