Fires and smoke near Yakutsk, Russia

Fires continue to burn and produce a shroud of thick smoke in the central Siberian Plateau and east across the Lena River, barely visible through the smoke, into the Orulgan Mountains. This true-color MODIS image shows the fires marked with red dots.
