This MODIS true-color image, acquired from data collected on May 29, 2001, shows southern Mato Grasso, in Brazil, as well as the eastern border of Bolivia (left) and Paraguay (lower left). Human impacts on the landscape are prominent, especially in the high-resolution image, as forests are replaced with agriculture and development.
