SeaWiFS: Phytoplankton Bloom in the Gulf of California

This SeaWiFS image from October 6, 2001 shows a phytoplankton bloom in progress around the southern tip of Baja California, Mexico. At the bottom center of the full-resolution image, a vortex street is visible in the clouds to the southwest of Socorro Island.
