SeaWiFS: Northwest African Dust and Bloom

This SeaWiFS image captured on October 18, 2001 offers a view of dust blowing out of northwest Africa. In the lower left corner of the image, the green water of a large phytoplankton bloom off the Mauritanian coast is visible through the dusty air.
