Fires in Venezuela

This MODIS true-color image shows a number of fires (red dots) burning throughout Venezuela. Smoke plumes from some of the fires can be seen in the higher resolutions of the image. Also visible is the Atlantic Ocean, which appears silver because of sun-glint. This image was acquired April 9, 2002.
