Western Central India

This MODIS image from April 12, 2002, shows western central India. At left, the Gulf of Khambhat, filled with sediment, separates the Gujarat Peninsula from the mainland. East of the Gulf, running east west roughly through the center of the image are the Satpura Mountain range, whose greenish slopes indicate quite different vegetation than the surrounding brown plains.
