Spain and Portugal

This Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) image from April 20, 2002, shows spring green expanding across Portugal (left) and Spain (right). Snow cover has been pushed back to only the highest elevations of the Pyrenees Mountains (upper right), which separate Spain from France. At bottom is the North African country of Morocco.
