Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming are captured in their entirety in this true-color Terra MODIS image acquired July 12, 2002. The Rocky Mountains first enter the United States in northern Idaho and Montana, and continue their way south through Wyoming, Utah, and Colorado. Farther north, in Canada’s Alberta, the Rockies still seem to have some snow on them. Also present are a few scattered fires—at Alberta’s eastern edge; in northwest Saskatchewan; in northwestern Montana; in northwestern, central, and southern Wyoming; in eastern Utah; and in western Colorado.
