On November 11, 2002, the MODIS sensor, flying aboard NASA’s Terra satellite, observed this large dust storm (light brown pixels) blowing over northeastern China toward the Korean peninsula. The dust appears to be originating from the Gobi Desert in north central China. Toward the south (bottom center of this scene), there is a dense pall of haze and pollution (grey pixels) over much of southeastern China.
