Smoke and smog in South Central Asia

This true-color Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) image from December 23, 2002, shows a mixture of haze (grayish pall) and clouds (white) over India left) and Bangladesh (right). Across the Himalaya Mountains the skies over the Tibetan Plateau are clear.
