Dust storm over Libya

This Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) image from February 28, 2003, shows a dust storm over Libya in northern Africa. A large dark splotch on the tan desert landscape mark the lava fields left behind during the Sahara´s volcanic past.
