Snow dusted Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and parts of New York on November 14, 2004, when the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on NASA’s Terra satellite acquired this image. In the north, Quebec, Canada is also largely blanketed with snow. Fall still holds sway in the south, where streaks of orange mark out the lines of the tree-covered Appalachian Mountains.
