Dust Storm in the Gobi Desert

Swirling dust covers parts of the Gobi desert, in this image acquired May 30, 2006, by the MODIS on the Aqua satellite. The Gobi desert stretches across southern Mongolia and northern China. In this image, Russia is also shown to the north, with Mongolia right below it, in the center of the image. The black lines denote the country boundaries.
